Because a closed pull-request is probably a place where this will be lost I'll repeat this here, sorry for the noise.
The question is whether py.test is a universal wheel, some claim it is not because a wheel built on python 2.6 won't run on 2.7+ or vice versa due to the extra dependency for 2.6. Previous pull requests and issues:
