I started Pyladies Bangalore in July 2013 and could not continue due to variety of personal reasons. But now, I am back and want to kick start the Pyladies Bangalore as more active Chapter. I have a few ideas on my mind that I have planned for Pyladies Bangalore. Before I do anything for Pyladies Bangalore, I want to ensure that the code of conduct, and other terms and conditions are set forth right and tight. I am asking others to pitch in their ides on the forum or to my email ID. Please email to me, and we can continue this discussion further. I am attaching the same as a word document as well. We can evolve this over time as Pyladies Bangalore evolves. "Pyladies Bangalore Code of Conduct: Pyladies Bangalore is dedicated to providing a respectful, harassment-free community for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment or bullying of any community member in any form. This does not only extend to members to local Pyladies Bangalore communities, but to anyone who chooses to become involved in the larger Pyladies Bangalore community of users, developers and integrators through events or interactions. Harassment includes offensive verbal/electronic comments related to personal characteristics or choices, sexual images or comments in public or online spaces, deliberate intimidation, bullying, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks, IRC chats, electronic meetings, physical meetings or other events, inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing or bullying behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, representatives of the community may take reasonable action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from any Pyladies Bangalore event, or expulsion from mailing lists, IRC chats, discussion boards and other electronic communications channels to resolve the issue. This may include expulsion from Pyladies Bangalore Meetup group membership. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please act to intercede or ask for help from any member of the Pyladies Bangalore community, IRC chat admins, website admins, or organizers/representatives of any physical events put on under the auspices of Pyladies Bangalore . The focus should be how to get things on the ground and actual events should be brought together where people get to share their ideas, learn from others expertise and network with fellow community people. This code of conduct and other "compliance" related stuff could be worked up later based on your needs and the kind of people you have in the community as regular participants. -- Regards Deep L Sukhwani On 9 April 2016 at 10:28, Annapoornima Koppad wrote: > Dear All, > > Here is the Code of Conduct for the Pyladies Bangalore Meetup. I am already in talks to get the event up and going. So you can rest on that aspect. But before any event happens, the code of conduct is an important aspect that needs to be taken care of. I have been soupy situations before for not having a code of conduct, so don't want to attract wrong attention from that end. Hope that answers your questions or anything other fears of steering in the wrong direction. In future, all correspondence with regard to the mailing list will be done by authentic real people instead of people who stalk around using other's names. 2. Increase sense of security for emails floating around the air regarding the Pyladies Bangalore. Heres what I propose to do. 1. While joining, the members will be required to provide one form of identity such as a pan card, or a voters card. I am asking for these two alone as the tools are available freely to check the details. 2. I am still thinking of other people who might be in India, foreigners who have just a passport and I don't have a means of authenticating that piece of information freely and publicly. Please suggest more on this! As far as I know, the changes are global so you're right, everyone's email will appear to be from pyladies-blr at python.org. There are some details about the setting over here http://wiki.list.org/DEV/DMARC > Also, the mailman page says that my email ID has been blacklisted. This is something more general and I'm not sure why. There was a similar issue which all the admins on the inpycon list faced recently although it seems to be resolved now. mailman at python.org is the admin address for python.org mailing list support so perhaps you can email them to fix the problem. One of the other inpycon admins suggested, as a temporary solution, to connect via a VPN. I've not tried it myself. [...] -- Cordially, Noufal http://nibrahim.net.in
