This is brilliant stuff Anu!
Svaksha, that sounds really interestintg - I would be excited to be pair with you, although I'm afraid I will be the one learning and you will be the one teaching.

If there's sufficient interest, I can arrange for the venue not a problem. I just need to know days and times. As well as the total # of participants (for booking a room)

The thoughtworks office is now in Koramangala, behind the BDA complex.

Sunita

Dear All,

I recently wrote a proposal to Python Software Foundation for grants to
conduct workshops, hackathons etc on behalf of Pyladies Bangalore and was
approved.

I should be receiving the money from them sometime soon. Its not the
greatest grant but its a start.

Sunita Venkatachalam, who is also on this mailing list is willing to
provide space at her office, Thoughtworks to conduct a workshop/hackathon.

There are few experienced people on the list who are already learning
Python to teach others. Please take this opportunity to spread the word to
other ladies, encourage them to join Pyladies. Ideally moving forward, I
would like to encourage ladies to take up jobs, etc via this platform. That
way, the ultimate goal of Pyladies will be to encourage women to join
workforce.

Hope to grow Pyladies Bangalore and help other women.

Thanks and regards,
Annapoornima

Since y'day, I'm working on porting a wrapper[0] for py3k support, so
if anyone is interested, I'm happy to pair/ demo this - no talk,
rather a hands-on session, so it helps if you have a laptop.
[0] https://github.com/jakevdp/SciDB-py

Is the TW office at Domlur available during weekdays or evenings? My
PR was just rejected for breaking 2x support, so I'm redoing it all
over again (FUN!!) and if things go as planned, I should be done by
the weekend (this depends on the core-dev accepting my patch) so it
may be nicer if I can show the participants how to start out.

Let me know if anyone is interested. Thoughts?
