Thanks very much for your offer of help. Assisting with the python.org website is mainly a matter of minor text edits and typo corrections (currently), so there isn't very much in the way of Python experience to be gained by helping out. We are currently in the middle of evaluating several proposals for a site redesign, after which there probably will be a lot of work and the current maintenance team is very small.  So in the future there may be ways you can help. Lurking on this mailing list and pitching in when something comes up would be great, but at the moment there isn't very much we can suggest.
