I finally reviewed the patch at , modified it to a form that can be applied from the configuration without actually touching the files installed from the system package, and installed it on wiki.python.org. You can see that the patch is installed by a new item in the timings, "getSubscribersCached". It will still take several seconds on saving a page that wasn't edited yet, but on subsequent edits it should be much faster. We are currently in the middle of evaluating several proposals for a site redesign, after which there probably will be a lot of work and the current maintenance team is very small. So in the future there may be ways you can help. Lurking on this mailing list and pitching in when something comes up would be great, but at the moment there isn't very much we can suggest. > > All the best, > > Michael Foord > > > > Awaiting for your response, > > > > Meghashyam T > > _______________________________________________ > > pydotorg-www mailing list > > pydotorg-www at python.org > > http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/pydotorg-www > > > -- > http://www.voidspace.org.uk/ > > > May you do good and not evil > May you find forgiveness for yourself and forgive others > May you share freely, never taking more than you give. > -- the sqlite blessing > http://www.sqlite.org/different.html > > > > > > > > ------------------------------ > > _______________________________________________ > pydotorg-www mailing list > pydotorg-www at python.org > http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/pydotorg-www > > > End of pydotorg-www Digest, Vol 47, Issue 7 > ******************************************* -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Assisting with the python.org website is mainly a matter of minor text edits and typo corrections (currently), so there isn't very much in the way of Python experience to be gained by helping out. I think the web >> server is just guessing the content type based on the filename. You are exactly right; I have now added AddCharset utf-8 .ascii to the docs config. Thanks for pointing that out.
