For example "Computer Graphics", "Film", "Risk Management" and "Visual Effects" all have a single identical entry (Industrial Light & Magic). The same for "Apparel Industry" and "Customer Relationship Management". There are two categories for "Simulation", with Carmanah in both (and Resolver Systems being the only other entry in the second). "GIS and Mapping" appears as a category three times, with a single identical entry each time. It seems like the page would be improved by some rationalisation / cleanup of the categories. As editor of most of the current set of success stories, I should note that I am no longer collecting new stories. It takes a lot of time because they are usually submitted in a form that requires a lot of extra editing and interviewing. I also think Python is past the point where it needs this. We've moved into the mainstream now in many business sectors, where in the past the showcased companies were isolated cases. Of course I don't mind in the least if others disagree and want to continue with this. The official home of these used to be pythonology.org but I think they should now be considered at home on python.org. The authors and companies involved gave permissions for web and print use (with the exception of Philips, Test&Go, and Eric Raymond's story which did not allow print use). I have documentation of all this that I will hand over to the PSF in some form. - Stephan From patcam at python.org Wed Jun 1 22:42:46 2011 From: patcam at python.org (Pat Campbell) Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 16:42:46 -0400 Subject: [pydotorg-www] invoicing for Strakt Holdings In-Reply-To: References: <201105261446.p4QEkFhh000826@theraft.openend.se> <201105261900.p4QJ0LSA026175@theraft.openend.se> Message-ID: > > [text deleted] > > Hi Pydotorg: > > Could you please remove the Sponsor logo and sponsor web url for > Strakt Holdings Inc and replace it with the Sponsor logo and sponsor > web url for Open End AB on this PSF home page: > > http://www.python.org/psf/ > > Please see Open End AB logo and url in the attachment. > > http://www.eutaxia.eu/ > > Thanks, > Pat > > > > > On Thu, May 26, 2011 at 3:00 PM, Laura Creighton wrote: > >> In a message of Thu, 26 May 2011 14:30:32 EDT, Pat Campbell writes: >> >--000e0cd17c9a2f54a604a4320440 >> >Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 >> > >> >Hi Laura: >> > >> > >> >We thank you for your 2011 contribution to the PSF. Having separate sections within the page for the different sponsorship levels makes sense, too. The sponsorship levels are defined on http://www.python.org/psf/sponsorship/ but I don't see anything describing which level each sponsor signed up for on the main PSF page or on the membership roster. Pat Campbell should be able to help put that together. Tiago, are you set up with svn, so you can check out the site source and make changes? I don't know the exact area affected, but entries like 'telia.net' or 'geant2.net' suggest it's not a local issue. Access via some Teredo server in the Netherlands seems ok. Maybe it's a good idea to drop AAAA DNS records for python.org temporarily, especially that easy_install and such are broken on affected networks with IPv6-enabled hosts (and automatic fallback to IPv4 does not always work, at least in my case).
