Mathieu,

    You can not directly bid on items. However you can do proxy bidding.
That is have someone else do the bidding for you. When this is done, you
can not take part in the auction of the item, and you can not communicate
with the person doing the bidding. Sometimes we will do some theater with
this type of bidding, and all attendees know what is going on, and have
some fun with it.

If you were planning on bidding on multiple items, I request that you do
not volunteer.
