From amk at amk.ca Wed May 23 22:56:24 2012 From: amk at amk.ca (A.M. Kuchling) Date: Wed, 23 May 2012 16:56:24 -0400 Subject: [PSF-Volunteers] RFP: Redesign python.org Message-ID: <20120523205624.GA28415@cpl10cishanson.coxinc.com> The PSF would like to fund the design and implementation for a new look and architecture for python.org. The board just approved the RFP: http://pythonorg-redesign.readthedocs.org The goal is to improve the organization of the site and its appearance, and to simplify the task for the volunteers who maintain the content. The web development landscape has also changed a lot since 2006, and we look forward to seeing what the community will produce. Please feel free to ask questions about the RFP, either here or on the psf-redesign mailing list. Proposals should be e-mailed to psf-redesign and are due by July 21st. The RFP was initially drafted by Jesse Noller, and feedback from the python.org site maintainers was incorporated by me. --amk From jnoller at gmail.com Thu May 24 00:39:47 2012 From: jnoller at gmail.com (Jesse Noller) Date: Wed, 23 May 2012 18:39:47 -0400 Subject: [PSF-Volunteers] [PSF-Members] RFP: Redesign python.org In-Reply-To: <20120523205624.GA28415@cpl10cishanson.coxinc.com> References: <20120523205624.GA28415@cpl10cishanson.coxinc.com> Message-ID: Note the strong requirements around online/offline capabilities - this way we can support offline/out of browser editing for those who want it (such as myself, the jobs board, etc) On Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 4:56 PM, A.M. I'd like to thank you, and latterly Andrew as well, for taking this onerous task on and ensuring it was completed. It's going to be interesting to see what comes in.
