Hi
I have a version available to review, critique and share. I have set up a temporary repository at my companies web site. Go to http://www.teratask.com/python_presenter/
There are two directories and a zip file. The s5-python_presenter.zip file is version one and I hope that all can download it and help me improve it.
The s5-python_presenter directory is an installed demo of this version.
s5-blank is a copy of my local workspace. I put this here in case anyone needs a jump start in setting up their workspace. Please do not submit any patches or code changes here.
I do have copies of the logo png files here. They are here for the demo and for convenience of the workspace. Should I remove the workspace copies, or are there any disclosures I should display?
Haven't looked at anyone else's work or contacted anyone. Anyone should feel free to contact me about this. Evidently there is no other repository for submissions. If any of you guys need upload or display space I'll talk to my company about providing this unless a more appropriate place is available.

The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn."

That looks very nice; the yellow and the blue header/footer look quite
bright and cheerful. Good work!
My only major issue is that I think the background graphics are still
too opaque -- they'll make it hard to read the foreground text -- so I
think their alpha needs to go a bit closer to zero. Perhaps it's a
bad idea to have words in the background at all, because they'll
always interfere with the foreground text; does anyone know?
(If you want a larger S5 presentation to try with the theme, one of my
presentations with S5 is at .)

It's perfectly all right to keep local copies.

We could always start a wiki page and attach drafts. Once a version
is finalized, I'll put the files on python.org so that they can be
used for PSF presentations (like the ones that Jeff Rush will be
working on).

Yes, I think it would be better to just use the logo. Also I suspect
either one *big* logo or a bunch of diagonally-tesselated little ones
would seem preferable (but we *are* talking taste, here, rememebr).

Looks nice! A few thoughts FWIW:
I'd agree that the watermark may be a problem -- perhaps the
solution is to remove it entirely and move the icon + "python"
logo to the top left (instead of "python powered" which doesn't
make as much sense generally)?
Also, instead of having a white background for the logo at the
top, maybe adding a decent sized white border around just the
icon part would be enough to offset the logo from the
same-colored background? I *do* like the top/bottom colors, just
not so much having the big white box around the logo...
Thanks for doing this!
