From ewa at python.org Tue Jun 8 09:58:48 2021 From: ewa at python.org (Ewa Jodlowska) Date: Tue, 8 Jun 2021 08:58:48 -0500 Subject: [PSF-Community] PSF Board Election Update: 2021 PSF Board Election Ballots & Delayed Bylaw Ballot Message-ID: [crossposting to psf-vote@ and psf-community@] Below are updates for this year's ballot. PSF Board Elections for 2021/22 term All eligible voters in this year's election should have an email from *Helios Voting Bot no-reply at mail.heliosvoting.org * in their inboxes. Check your spam folders please - I found mine in spam, unfortunately. Email me directly (ewa at python.org) if you need us to re-send it to you. We have a great list of candidates this year and I urge everyone to take a few minutes to vote. Bylaw updatesWhat happened Due to human error, the previously proposed bylaw changes did not make it onto this ballot ( https://mail.python.org/mailman/private/psf-vote/2021-May/000463.html). There isn't a way to cancel the vote or update the ballot via Helios. How it's being rectified To make sure folks don't accidentally miss the board nomination ballot in the midst of receiving a second ballot at the same time, it was decided to send out a second ballot after the board election closes, which is scheduled to happen June 17th. At that time, the PSF will send out a second ballot for the bylaw changes - we will send a reminder to the psf-vote@ list when it is sent. For future ballots the PSF staff and board will put checks and balances in place so we can avoid these types of errors. We apologize for the inconvenience! I use gmail, and it's never put a PSF-related vote in Spam before, so I wouldn't expect it - and I get hundreds of spam in my gmail Spam folder every day so rarely check it. Thanks! > unfortunately. From ewa at python.org Mon Jun 14 15:52:30 2021 From: ewa at python.org (Ewa Jodlowska) Date: Mon, 14 Jun 2021 14:52:30 -0500 Subject: [PSF-Community] PSF 2021 Board Elections: Reminder to vote! Message-ID: Hi everyone! If you became an eligible voting member[1] by May 31, 2021 you have received a ballot from no-reply at mail.heliosvoting.org. Deadline to vote is June 17, 2021 AoE. Check your spam folder, please. Several of us have found it in spam. We can re-send the ballot if you cannot find it. Email us at psf-election at python.org. Why should you vote? 1. Voting is one of the benefits members[1] receive after signing up. *It is also a very impactful benefit to exercise*. The members of the board get to vote and make decisions on behalf of the PSF community and also help guide the PSF?s future. Here?s a list of candidates . 2. Electronic votes require us to reach a quorum. Quoted from our bylaws: ?a quorum shall be reached as soon as one-third (1/3) of the members entitled to vote (the voting members) have cast their vote. If the voting period ends before a quorum is reached, the vote is declared void.? If you have any questions or concerns, don?t hesitate to email me ewa at python dot org.
