I'm pretty sure most of us would prefer simply publishing a link, and
clearly there's nothing to stop people who want copy delivered to their
mailbox by signing up.

I don't know enough about the PSF communications strategy to know whether
the emails will include full copy. In any case, I'm really glad it is
developing a broad channel for providing information about the language and
its users, and wish the newsletter well. I'm sure the feedback from this
list will be helpful.

As we all know, the PSF is a developing organisation. I can certainly
hardly recognise the somewhat stumbling bunch of geeks that I joined in
2003. More strength to its arm.

After a very work intense RFP with more than 40 venues competing, 17
entries, and two rounds of refinements, we are now happy to announce
the winner:

		   EuroPython 2019 will be held in
	      Basel, Switzerland, from July 8 - 14 2019


We will now start work on the contracts and get the organization
going, so that we can all enjoy another edition of EuroPython next
year.

Packaging Work Group receives funding from OTF for PyPI

The Python Software Foundation (https://python.org/psf-landing)  Packaging Working Group (https://www.python.org/psf/committees/#packaging-work-group)  has applied for and received a commitment from the Open Technology Fund (https://www.opentech.fund/)  to fulfill a contract via their Core Infrastructure Fund (https://www.opentech.fund/funds/core-infrastructure-fund/) .

This project aims to improve the security and accessibility of PyPI (https://pypi.org/) for all users worldwide, whether they are direct users, like project maintainers and pip install (https://pip.pypa.io/en/stable/) ers, or indirect users.

We plan to begin the project in January 2019. Because of the size of the project, funding has been allocated to secure one or more contractors to complete the development, testing, verification, and assist in the rollout of necessary features.

The Request for Proposals period is open and is scheduled to close December 15, 2018 AoE (https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/aoe) .

Hi,
Some months ago, I made a project for a friend of mine, to allow him to
manage his diabetes.
I made that with django and published it on github.
Some people discovered it and asked me if the project can import/sync data
from their pump.
And all I have to reply them "No, sorry", each time. But that make me sad
for us.
So I'm coming here for asking if you know manufacturers/projects that allow
that kind of use ?
