I apologize for ignoring the couple of previous messages to this list. Anyway, um, Life [tm] happens. While I've dropped the ball on this, we still don't have enough people to run a Python/PSF table at OSCON. But I'm certainly happy if others want to use this list to organize more personal Python-related activities (e.g. dinner). -- Aahz (aahz at pythoncraft.com) <*> http://www.pythoncraft.com/ The way to build large Python applications is to componentize and loosely-couple the hell out of everything. Perhaps, but it's a fair bit of work to even get a table and all the material that goes with it. I know that when I'm at a conference, I have a negative reaction to organizations that put up a table and have nobody staffing it. Maybe I'm unusual, but I don't have the time/energy to try that right now. -- Aahz (aahz at pythoncraft.com) <*> http://www.pythoncraft.com/ The way to build large Python applications is to componentize and loosely-couple the hell out of everything. I've had to do advocacy where I work, since a lot of people do not know about python. The one place where I expect there to be advocacy for python would be OSCON. I wasn't thinking of having the table there for all days and only part-time staffed. Instead, I was thinking of having a table for a few days, maybe Mon and Tue with someone always present. If full time is the only option, perhaps we should find out how much time people are willing to volunteer, before deciding it is not possible. You most likely have a better sense of what is involved with this than I. So, maybe I'm totally off base. But, at least I can try :-) john --- Aahz wrote: > On Sun, Jul 24, 2005, John Nielsen wrote: > > > > If we cannot find enough people to man the booth > full-time, perhaps, > > instead there could be one for some of the days? > > Perhaps, but it's a fair bit of work to even get a > table and all the > material that goes with it.
