From wereapwhatwesow at gmail.com Sat Dec 16 09:54:16 2017 From: wereapwhatwesow at gmail.com (Steve Young) Date: Sat, 16 Dec 2017 08:54:16 -0600 Subject: [omaha] Wanted: Meeting Facilitator / December Meeting Message-ID: Friends, I am doing some early New Years resolutions, and have decided I need to step away from the OPUG group, at least until I start programming on a regular basis again. No bad life events are occurring - I have too much on the plate, and this is one of the things I am scraping off to keep some 'margin' in life. I have enjoyed the friendships I have made over the years, and have benefited from the knowledge that has been shared. Thanks to everyone. So, OPUG is looking for one or more people to organize the monthly meetings: - Schedule a room - Select a speaker/topic - Update the website with the meeting details - Email the details to the group Of course, if you choose to volunteer, you would be free to do things as you prefer. As we try and run the group as 'headless' as possible, we don't have a turnover plan, so please reply to this email with your comments and ideas. The December meeting date is Tuesday, 12/19, and the Large Conference room (in the NW corner) at DoSpace is booked. I have no speaker scheduled, and will not be able to attend myself, so please RSVP if you wish to attend. Here are a few ideas that came to mind: - If a few are interested in helping to run the group, this could be a re-organizational meeting. - cancel this month and reboot in January. - move the meeting to a place with food/beverages and celebrate the season!
