I have set up a demo version of a web conference software to try out for our
meetings.  You can try it at http://omaha.zapto.org:8081.  I don't have a
lot of bandwidth here but hopefully enough for a couple of users to test it
out.  Let me know if you can connect and join the meeting.  If so, I will
set up a time when we can all get online at the same time and give it a real
test.

They said the room is already booked for tonight.

They said they should be able to put it onto the schedule so we only have to
call if we are going to cancel for future meetings.  Do you want to do this,
or do you usually wait until close to the date to see if we are going to
meet?

Any ideas for another meeting place...?  I thought the time we didn't have
the projector and used VNC to share screens worked pretty good if you just
want to meet at a coffee shop.

The Omaha Dynamic Language Users Group has been meeting at UNO PKI for years. Projector, wireless, 30 computers. You're always welcome to join us (we need a November presentation). And/or maybe Dr. Bastola or Dr. Pauley would sponsor you so you could meet at PKI on your own schedule? I know them pretty well and they harness/teach Python (BioPython) occasionally I believe.

I kind of like Jay's idea for November.  Jay, how is the parking over at
PKI?  They expanded student parking quite a bit and I don't recall if you
can park there at night without a pass.   For a while we were meeting at the
Business school over on the main campus and that worked pretty well, but you
had to park over in the pay lot.  Burch always had passes available for us
but parking in that small lot was not particularly useful during the early
parts of the semester.

For this month's meeting, a change of venue is not a problem.  Do you have
any place in particular in mind Steve?

Jay, what kind of presentation would be of interest to the ODLUG?  Python
like Perl has many facets -- what are the hot topics for the group
currently?

Technically you need a pass. They prep me 7 parking passes each month. But nobody ever uses them and it's been years since anyone has gotten a ticket (which we could get waived).

We haven't seen any Python in... a very long time(?), so anything the presenter is fired up about would be welcome.   :)

Ok, hope it is close to somebody.  I've got a soccer game until ~6:30pm  at
Cathedral, so I won't be there until a bit after 7.  Steve, I leave it to
you to update the website and hold a table for us. ;)     They have any
outlets along the walls?  If not, I'll need to bring my half-top, the
laptops batteries are getting long in the tooth.

from?  Mid-town is large.  There is a Panera at 78th and Dodge.  Let me know
which is closer to you.  Any is ok, but look for a location that is a good
