Do you use it with any of the Aqua-based GUIs ? Probably not. My
experience with fink is that it is a subsystem all it's own. If you do
everything with fink, it'll work fine. Personally, I'm a Linux geek, so
I'd probably be happy with an all-fink system, but the only reason I use
OS-X at all is that I work with other OS-X users, none of whom are Unix
folks (they mostly come from the old Mac-OS world). I need to be able to
develop apps that they can just fire up and have working on their stock
OS-X boxes, and that look like Mac apps.
I've decided that fink-free is the best way to achieve this at the moment.
