[Neuroimaging] [nibabel] Reading '.bshort' file format

File format denoted by suffix ".bshort" should be a variation of ".mgh"
file format. Nibabel is supporting ".mgh" file format while ".bshort" isn't.
Is there any trick or workaround for loading ".bshort" files?

I tried to use mri_convert to transform ".bshort" file into nifti files but
it doesn't work.
A reference to other solutions to convert ".bshort" files are welcome.
