Other than that, people with some sort of experience can join a chatroom (like Zulip) to ask their questions. Need suggestions on this? > > create issues with projects and probable mentors as the Mentors what level of skills are needed to get started if possible ask them to pick a few issues which are labelled with different levels of difficulty. We need a separate place to jot down these issues, or we can add label to the existing issues which are fit for a day?s sprint like `PyDelhi Sprint` and take them up during the sprint using filtered Github search. > > in the context of PyCon India the projects which come to my mind are > > 1. https://github.com/pythonindia/junction > 2. https://github.com/pythonindia/wye > 3. https://github.com/pythonindia/pyconindia-handbook > > thanks, > -Satya > > Satyakam.dev | afrost.org | fossevents.in > ** For all official purposes use my name as Satyakam Goswami ** > _______________________________________________ > https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/ncr-python.in > http://bit.ly/pydelhi-mailinglist-guidelines Regards, Shashank | realslimshanky https://shanky.dev From shashankkumarkushwaha at gmail.com Thu Mar 11 00:19:15 2021 From: shashankkumarkushwaha at gmail.com (Shashank Kumar) Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2021 10:49:15 +0530 Subject: [PyDelhi] [X-POST] Keynote Speaker Suggestions for PyCon India 2021 Message-ID: Hey everyone, We recently announced that PyCon India 2021 will be organized online[1], and we have already started prepping up for the conference. We have also opened our talks and workshops CFP for potential speakers[2]. We want to start the process of selecting the Keynote Speakers for PyCon India 2021. For people new to the conference, keynotes at PyCon India, are inspiring talks from speakers that leave a lasting impact on the conference attendees. The keynote speakers also help to tip the scales for people having second thoughts about attending the conference. This increases participation and enriches the overall experience of the conference. We will have 4 keynote speakers this year. Please send in your keynote speaker suggestion to the mailing list. Please send in one keynote speaker suggestion per mail, containing a brief description of the speaker or Speaker Bio-Link. If you like a speaker suggestion, use +1 style voting to indicate a preference for a particular keynote speaker. We are also using GitHub discussions to get all suggestions from the community. Please share your keynote speaker suggestions in the GitHub discussion here also[3]. We will start reaching out to keynote speakers in the order of preference within the next few weeks. In case you want to chime in for the PyCon India 2021 discussions, you can join the #2021/discussion stream in PyCon India Zulip[4] channel. But I see a lot of exciting things happening ever since I?ve scratched the surface with Python, software and technology in general. It?s rewarding to go from layman tech junky to small/personal creation. It changes perspective and has boosted my confidence & solution - ing. Both I?ve been confident of in many ways due to my experiences/exposure. But to code simply has changed that forever, for the better. Enough me, what I truly wanted to convey is that you guys ( all of you with respect) make the frontier of where this community goes. And inherently where the frontier of open source and tech goes in our community, capital & country. Let me know how I can assist you. Heading to Andaman on 22nd for few months again. And if you did not, no problem, we're planning a meetup really soon. Following are some of the key topics touched which need discussion and a plan of action. 1. Dev Sprint Organizing a Dev Sprint virtually can be quite challenging but the community discussed a variety of ideas today which can be taken forward - Open Source Platforms: Zulip, Jami, Mumble, Jitsi - Others: Discord, Airmeet, Google Meet Assuming we will be having multiple projects and attendees who might be a beginner in Open Source, let us know which platform and what process would be better to handle a Dev Sprint. ----- 2. A regular meetup with talks Nikhil proposed we should get back on the biweekly schedule starting from Sunday, 11th April 2021. And for that, we invite you to submit talks by creating a new issue here[0]. Please share this with your friends and peers who might be working on some cool Python or Open Source projects. ----- 3. Python, PyDelhi, and PyCon India collaboration/promotions Just like the old days when physical meetups were not a problem we used to organize various collaborative meetups in Schools and Universities/Colleges to promote Python, PyDelhi and PyCon India before the conference. Lakshya, Shubham, Nikhil, Sanchit, and others are interested in reaching out to their colleges/schools they're connected to regarding this. Do you want to help organize meetups in your workplace/college/school? Feel free to discuss. ----- If you're interested in volunteering please subscribe to the PyDelhi mailing list[1] and follow up with and discuss along with the conversations. If you don't want to miss out on any of the PyDelhi events, please join our Meetup group[2]. If you want to be part of the PyDelhi Telegram group, please ping me on Telegram after searching 'realslimshanky'. We had to make the Telegram group private because of spam.
