I'm happy to co-poorly-own it :) #insert : The list has now been created, and you should have already gotten the initial listowner password. For now, the list is not advertised, with private archives. Subscriptions have to be confirmed and approved. Posts from non-subscribers are held for moderation, and new subscribers are also moderated by default. I've plugged in some standard site-wide default language into the listinfo field, based on the above. Once you're happy with the other parts of the list configuration, please feel free to open up the list to be publicly advertised, etc.... If there are any list policy changes you'd like to make, please let us know. If there's anything else we can do to help, please let us know. #insert :-) -- Brad Knowles Member of the Python.org Postmaster Team Co-moderator of mailman-users and mailman-developers mailing lists From barry at python.org Thu Jan 17 00:05:55 2008 From: barry at python.org (Barry Warsaw) Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 18:05:55 -0500 Subject: [meta-sig] [stdlib-reorg] a dedicated stdlib list? Hopefully just a delay > somewhere in the relay. When you create a mailing list in Mailman, you are only allowed to specify one owner address. In this case, I used either barry at python.org or barry at list.org, I don't remember which -- that's where the list password would have gone. Once the initial creation was done, I added brett at python.org as a secondary owner, but there would not have been a second "list creation" e-mail message sent out. Barry should remember the site admin password, so he can get in and change the list password to whatever he wants. If you guys want me to set a different list admin password on your behalf, I can do that -- just send a request to postmaster at python.org, and then once you get logged in you should make sure you change it to something else that you can remember. Either way, I can get in whenever I need, because I also have the site admin password. -- Brad Knowles Member of the Python.org Postmaster Team Co-moderator of mailman-users and mailman-developers mailing lists From barry at python.org Thu Jan 17 04:51:38 2008 From: barry at python.org (Barry Warsaw) Date: Wed, 16 Jan 2008 22:51:38 -0500 Subject: [meta-sig] [stdlib-reorg] a dedicated stdlib list?
