*Company Details*

Obsidian Consulting Group is looking to hire two full-time programmers -
one Developer role and one Senior Developer role. Obsidian develops and
sells it's own software to Universities, ISPs and Telecommunications
providers in Australia and overseas, and is looking for an enthusiastic
fast learner to join our team.


Obsidian is a small business located in Coburg and offers staff excellent
working conditions in a friendly and invigorating environment. Obsidian
utilise Agile development methodologies and encourage employees to work in
teams. Office hours are 10am - 6pm.


*Developer*

The position will entail coding on our software to client and internal
requirements in Python, as well as some HTML and SQL work.  There is space
for this position to develop over time in a number of directions depending
on the successful applicant's interests - client-focussed or more technical.

The Developer role is an entry-to-mid level position and will require
demonstrated ability in the following areas: Python, Linux Systems
Administration, MySQL, Javascript, Networking (particularly routing and
firewall/traffic management type devices), HTML / CSS.

   - • End user document Writing
   - • Ability to work in team environments
   - • Commitment to standards compliance
   - • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment

*Senior Developer*

The Senior roll will be working under a Development Team Leader, and will
include some client work. There is space for this position to develop over
time in a number of directions depending on the successful applicant's
interests - client-focussed or more technical. The position will entail
coding on our software to client and internal requirements in Python, as
well as some HTML and SQL work.


Demonstrated ability in the following will be looked upon highly: Python,
Linux Systems Administration, MySQL, Javascript, Networking (particularly
routing and firewall/traffic management type devices), HTML / CSS.


The role requires a minimum 3 years experience working with an Object
Oriented Language, preferably Python.
