[IronPython] Fwd: VS2005 Iron Python

Thanks for the crash dump - I've forwarded this to the VS SDK team... I was able to get a stack trace (you should have been able to do this in VS from Debug->Windows from the VS session that's debugging the VS SDK version of VS) but I pulled it using windbg. I'm actually not too familiar with the VS SDK code, but the one thing I noticed is we seem to crash while closing a solution (at least there's something called CSolution::Close on the stack).
Do you have a solution open? If so could you close it first, and then try creating a new solution?

I have RC2 downloaded, but the reference is using the IP that came with the VS SDK. RC2 was in my path, but I removed it and recompiled just in case.

Can you enable native debugging & break on 1st chance AVs? given that most of the SDK sample code is managed code a crash like this is a little strange, but hopefully w/ a stack trace hopefully someone from our team or the VS SDK team can figure it out.
Forgive me if I provide useless info. I am a linux/python convert.
Enabling native debugging gives me this error:
Unhandled exception at 0x500af719 in devenv.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0xfeeefef6. (I am guessing this is
useless)
If I hit "Break" on this error it drops me to the "return" line for this code from "vswprint.c".
int __cdecl _vsnwprintf_s (
wchar_t *string,
size_t sizeInWords,
size_t count,
const wchar_t *format,
va_list ap
)
{
return _vsnwprintf_s_l(string, sizeInWords, count, format, NULL, ap); }
From the locals listing it looks like arg "ap" is a null pointer, so this is probably the culprit. Here are the other args just in case.
+ string 0x00104004 "ation6\consoleapplication6.sln"
unsigned short *
sizeInWords 260 unsigned int
count 58641952 unsigned int
+ format 0x037ece00 "ﻮﻮﻮﻮ" const wchar_t *
+ ap 0x00000000 <Bad Ptr> char *
I don't really know how to provide you with a stack trace, but I saw the option to save a dump. I am attaching that file.
Let me know if there is something more helpful I can do.
- Charlie
