I'm running on Windows 7 64-Bit with Administrator privileges.
Python version is 2.7.9. Anaconda 2.2.0 (64-Bit), iPython 3.2.0

Nothing special along the lines you asked about, the directory is local.
However, the filename I used was extremely long and with many spaces.
I forgot what the limit for Windows filenames is.

Later, after I posted the two messages, I looked in the iPython console and
there was some information there, which I forgot to save.
I terminated that console session and the notebook which was running, and
started a new console & notebook.

I also used a much shorter notebook title/filename.

It's odd that the stuff I saved was lost though. It wasn't critical work,
just some notes I took. It's more of a puzzle than an annoyance.

I don't even know what to do to duplicate that issue.
The subsequent notebook I launched did not have this issue,
