In addition to this, it's also worth mentioning the OpenDreamKit project:

http://opendreamkit.org/

it's an EU-funded effort, where Jupyter will also play a role (Thomas and
Min will be part of the effort), and given the RPi foundation is based in
Europe, that may be another channel for easier communications.  A number of
the same players are involved.
