[IPython-dev] #ipython on IRC (freenode server)

Hi all,

we've joined the (existing, but seldom used) #ipython channel on
freenode. I know we've been doing a poor job of keeping the rest of
the wider user/developer community up to date with the development
plans and work on ipython, but we've also promised to do better.

This is the first (small) step in that direction: for the next two
days, Stefan van der Walt, Gael Varoquaux, Laurent Dufrechou (who
recently contributed the Wx shell) and myself are hanging out at
Gael's parent's house south of Paris, working on kickstarting the
integration work for ip0/ip1, building on top of all of the recent
flurry of activity.

We'll also gradually document better the development process, figure
out what to do about Trac and old tickets, and hopefully in a few
months we'll not only have more functioning code, but also a more
active community that really encourages *anyone* who is interested in
the project and willing to participate, to do so.

Cheers,

f
