I'm afraid I have no idea; the problem certainly does NOT occur under
linux, so it must be some particular interaction of GVim and XP.
Given how I use neither, I doubt I'll be of much help.

It would be a good idea if you could file a ticket on this item at the
bug tracker:

http://ipython.scipy.org/trac

This way it won't be forgotten and perhaps one day someone will
understand what's going on (we do have win32 developers, so there's
hope).
