Hi Everyone,
Hope you all are doing well. I wanted to share a few updates from the past
couple of weeks and seek your suggestions on some key points.
- Conference & Workshop Tickets
- So far, we have sold over 530 tickets. This includes all early bird
tickets and 50% of regular & combo tickets.
- We are planning to launch a contributor ticket by the end of this
month, with a minimum amount of 5000 INR.
- We'll plan to use this additional amount collected to offer travel
grants within India.
- DevSprint Tickets:
- I would appreciate your suggestions/feedback on our current plan
around the DevSprint tickets.
- Ideally, DevSprint should be free for every conference attendee.
However, due to logistical constraints, we've planned to charge a small
amount of 100 INR to reserve a ticket for DevSprints.
- Please advise if there are any objections or if there could be a
better way to handle this.
- Venue
- Phenompeople is in the final stages of confirming the venue for
DevSprints.
- ISB has declined to host our workshops due to the unavailability of
classrooms.
- As a backup plan, we are considering IIIT-H for the workshops.
- Keynotes
- At the moment, we still have 4 confirmed keynote speakers.
- Ee Durbin, who could potentially be our 5th keynote speaker as he
had expressed his interest, is yet to confirm his participation.
- If we do not have any luck finding additional keynote speakers in
the next week or so, we will cease our search and stick with the 4/5
keynotes we already have.
- Code of Conduct (CoC)
- Some keynote speakers who we reached out to, have expressed
concerns about the enforcement of CoC at PyCon India.
- As a takeaway and to address these concerns, we're planning to put
extra measures in place to ensure strong CoC implementation this year.
- If anyone is willing to assist in this area, please feel free to
reach out.

Best Regards
Sanchit
