Subject: [Inpycon] Chennai for PyCon India 2019

Hi Everyone,
This is Vijay Kumar from Chennaipy. We, the Chennaipy / PySangamam
2018 team, would like to propose Chennai as the host city for PyCon
India 2019.

## Organizing Team

The current organizing team members:

    * Abhishek Yadav
    * Aditi
    * Ashok Govindarajan
    * Babusubashchandar
    * Krishna Sangeeth
    * Naren
    * Ramananthan Hari
    * Rengaraj D
    * Senthil Kumaran
    * Sharmila Gopirajan
    * Shrayas Rajagopal
    * Sivasubramanyam A
    * Vijay Kumar B

We hope that along with the support from the PyCon India community and
the teams from previous years, we will be able to deliver a great
conference.

## Event Size and Format

We will be able to manage a 3 day conference of 1000 attendees (1200
max).

   * Day 1: Workshops and Devsprints
   * Day 2 & 3: Talks

## Potential Venues

The Convention Center at the Chennai Trade Center is one of the venue
options. It has a seating capacity of 2000, that can be split into two
halls of 1000 each. There are additional rooms and halls that can be
used for a third track and for open space.

## Institutional Support

We would like to work with AFROST, just like PyCon India 2018, for
institutional support.

Looking forward to a favorable response from the community. If things
turn out to be favorable, I will be sending a more detailed proposal by
Wednesday.

Regards,
Vijay
