Sir/Madam, I am a second year computer science student , who has intermediate knowledge of python,numpy and pandas and some basic knowledge of tensorflow.
I want to contribute on some of your projects related to python or ML, but the problem is that I feelkind of intimidating as I almost don?t know most of the terms.

So can u plz suggest/advice me on the topic that whether I can be part of a project, I am purely want ot be part of any project for the experience and knowledge.
I know basics of programming and some machine learning stuff, and was learning database in my holidays. So can u tell me what are my options or what should I do so that I can be qualified to be part of your one of the projects.
Also I know how to use git too.

Hello all,
Myself Shekhar (GSoC 2016 - SymPy and GSoC 2017 - SciRuby student developer). In this thread, I just want to discuss my idea about a new python library of dat visualiztion.we can see that there are good plotting libraries present?for Python.? But for web application we usually want a smooth and interactive charts/graphs for better UI and UX. In those cases, developers are switching to JavaScript plotting libraries? (I personally like Googlecharts?and Highcharts?).?
So, here is my idea to solve this problem :?
- We should have a library that can generate javascript for the given data source (list, list of lists, Pandas DataFrame, numpy array, ..).- Using the library API, first we will load the dependent js file (js for GoogleChart or HighChart ).- Now, the generated javascript code(Googlechart?or highchart?js code) for the chart, now will be able to display the chart in web page or IPython notebook. Also chart can be exported in html, svg, jpeg, .. format, when the user is running code in the terminal.
Why GoogleChart or/and HighChart :
- Both is actively getting updated and features are being added day by day.- Supports almost all kinds od charts and map.- Charts can be customized using input options.
My work related to this :
- I worked on the same for Ruby - SciRuby/daru-view, that can work smoothly in IRuby notebook, any ruby web application and generate image/html file in terminal.- You can see examples present in this?nbviewer?link.- API can be seen in README file?.?
Let me know, your suggestions and comment on this idea. Also let me know if it is possible to add this idea in GSoC 2019 idea list.?

There are several high quality and actively developed libraries for this in
Python already. Please check out Bokeh, Plotly and Altair. Starting a new
project is not feasible for a GSoC project.

Note that this general list is not for these ideas - instead you should
talk to the developers of a project directly. Please look at the projects I
mentioned, and if you are interested in one of them, ask on that projects'
mailing list.

Hope you are doing well.

I am Axat Chaudhari, currently pursuing Master of Science in Computer
Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am very much interested to
work on penalized or regularized GMM in Statsmodels sub-org during GSOC
2019.

Re-implementing research papers and writing mathematics in official,
object-oriented fashion so that everyone can better understand and use it,
has always been exciting for me. This is the reason I am interested in this
project. I would feel very proud writing the code in statsmodel which would
be used by many scholars. It would add great experience to my knowledge
span.

Although, I have barley started open source contribution and but I have
zeel for writing math code in python and for that reason I believe that I
would be able to successfully finish the project within time frame and
writing clean, usable and aligning with Statsmodels' standards.

I request you to give me this opportunity and It would be great help if you
could help me in this regard. Looking forward to hearing from you.

My name is Shreya Joshi, I am currently pursuing Bachelor of Engineering
with Computer Science and Engineering as my Major. I am in the last
semester of my studies. I would like to make generic class
for stack,queue,tree,graph,linked list just like c++ stl.
I am fond of mathematics and have implemented almost all integration and
differentiation formulas in c language without using any library.
I have made an image processing tool
by implementing all its operations from scratch without using opencv
library in python.

I have done a number of projects in Python/C++ and I have in-depth
knowledge of both the languages. I have also done certification courses of
Machine learning, deep learning and Data Science from Stanford University ,
Google Cloud (Using TensorFlow) , John Hopkins and University of Washington
with Coursera as an Online platform.

I am very much interested in digital imaging and applying Machine learning
on the digital data obtained, right now me and my team are implementing
ocpp based central server to manage all the operations of charging machine
used to charge electric vehicles and developed android app in order to
perform charging transactions.
which will soon be launched on play store for Tvesas Electric Solutions
Pvt. Ltd
Any guidance or Help on How to apply for project Ideas for this season of
GSoC would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think we have any projects interested in standard library work 
(Python already has a pretty extensive one and even our projects with 
more specific data structure needs are mature enough to have their own) 
but hopefully there are other projects available that might interest you!

I submitted my draft proposal with proper organisation tag 3 days back. I
haven't received any comments from you except my own sub org mentors (EOS
design system). Are you forwarding the proposals directly to sub orgs and
only they will review or you haven't reviewed it yet?

UCM seems like a really interesting topic. I have read a few articles on this model and would love to contribute in this field. I have done my bachelors in computer science engineering and have worked in the industry for more than 3 years. I am currently pursuing a post graduate course.

I have been using python for about two months now and being an amateur I
get a lot of errors while practising to code. It will a gift if there were
something which could help people with their error right when they make it
,instead to googling it again and again for every error.
As Python was listed in Gsoc for 2019 I was hoping that i will also be
listed in 2020 and we can work on implementing a "FIX" button. Whenever a
error is made by a user this button automatically searches the error in
stackoverflow and displays the most related result.

If you wish to work with scrapy you should contact them directly, currently
there not setup as a suborg for python, the website they had for gsoc last

To whom it may concern,

I'm Utsav Parmar, pursuing my B. Tech in Computer Engineering. I like to
work on new technologies and am currently looking for open-source projects
to contribute to.

As it may turn out, I've got a college project in my curriculum this
semester under ?Software Development Practice?, and I'd like to work upon a
project and/or a feature in pipeline spanning over 3 months in Python
Software Foundation as a part of the same college project. My mentor cum
professor has already agreed for the same, given that I get approval from
one of the maintainers. So, if possible, will you please allot me something
to work upon?
