[GSoC-general] GSOC 2016

Hi,
    I am Shashank Gandham, a second year undergraduate student majoring in
Computer Science from India. I am interested in Vector Math Library
Integration for Python which is one of the proposed projects for GSOC 2016 (
https://github.com/scipy/scipy/wiki/GSoC-2016-project-ideas#numpy-project-ideas
).

Honestly I am not much experienced in either Python or C, I learned both
the languages in Introduction to Programming in my college which I took in
my 2nd semester. I am really interested in contributing to the open source
project and as I have 3 months vacation in the summer, I find it apt to
utilize my time doing something constructive. You may have your doubts
about my abilities, hence I am writing this email, If it is possible and
convenient you can test me before the applications start, and on the basis
of my performance, you can make your decision. I can assure you, I can
provide about 6-8 hrs a day, 7 days a week in summer.

In the mean time, I would also like to know, how can I contribute to python
now?
