It was great meeting other Python meetup organizers today at PyCon. Thanks Faris for putting that up on the open spaces board. As promised, my attempt at notes from our conversation is included in this email. I tried to get everyone's name and location under attendees. I used location in the notes for some context. Please feel free to make suggestions to fix names and things; it was pretty difficult to get it all right by hearing. Everyone with the link has comment access: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zR0mWohPNx0DJsNaatnisxzQLAThxuUiqMWyPh6Qx3A/edit Asheesh, John, Faris and I were chatting afterwards and this idea came up. Who would be interested in hanging out over Zoom next month (evening or weekend)? This way we can get a small group talking and maybe this can be the start of a regular thing. Happy to share my availability with whoever is interested in this experiment :) Best, Nick ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Thanks for all your ideas. I look forward to building more community with you. Does anyone have anything to share with regards to adding more organizers? I don't know if folks are amenable, but I was kind of thinking that getting contact info in one spot might make sense. No obligation, but if folks are willing to fill out this sheet with your info *in the next week, I can de-public it and reshare with everyone who post their emails*. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MbQN98pKg1tlsQFlMXQGe7sUitWW0SgZy9a277HbN7A/edit?usp=sharing Feel free to change formatting if the sheet is missing a key field for you; I just started with the stuff that I use regularly. So, riding on the high of PyCon, I have created a #community-organizers channel in the Python Community Slack. It would be great if we can get as many organizers as possible in there so we can have a quick and easy place to share ideas, tips, files etc. If you?re not already in that Slack workspace, here is the link to join: https://python-community-slack.herokuapp.com/ The channel is #community-organizers If anyone knows of other ones that have this similar purpose, please let me know and I will reach out to those as well. I look forward to working with everyone! Thank you, MaryBeth Okerson Marketing & Event Coordinator -- Six Feet Up, Inc.
