I haven't worked with printers, but this should also be possible by 
appending a command in the appropriate library to whatever script 
you're using.

(To clarify, in the steps I listed above were meant to be automated, 
not done manually by the user).

Let me know if you want more details. Not sure how much help I can be, 
but I'll do my best :)
