I would argue that a contemporary Python workstation, appropriately beefed
up with software libre, ala numpy / scipy, has enough embedded graphics
capability to hold the fort.

A billboard campaign aimed at getting numpy in high schools, would make a
lot of sense.

The curriculum stays weak to the extent we expect "technology in the
