Looks like we've got a great response from potential mentors:
(Is this list correct? did I miss anyone? or add someone I wasn't meant to?)

So I guess we now need:

1) A date (the next 2 weeks or early Jan' suits me)... Meet & greet, get
into teams, get peoples laptops set up for collaborative coding, etc.
2) Students ... Lets go and drum up some interest outside of this mailing
list. When we know how many students we have and how much tuition they
would like we can divide up the mentoring resource accordingly.

Would someone like to shout out a suitable date to kick off discussion on
point number 1? Some time i the second or first week of January?
