Why do you say that 'sequence' is a keyword?
>>> enumerate()
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
TypeError: Required argument 'sequence' (pos 1) not found
That means that 'sequence' can be changed to 'iterable' without worrying about backwards compatibility.
