This is a fair point. But it is an acknowledged problem in pip and
we're working on resolving it. See
http://legacy.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0470/. The problem (as with
anything else) is that someone needs to write the code, and that
hasn't happened yet. We'll get to it, but the usual "PRs welcome"
comment applies here :-)
