Great.

Neal,

I wouldn't characterize it as a battle. While there are a couple of
points which not everyone may agree with, I think overall the issue was
merely that no-one has taken the time and effort to clean things up
enough to be able to formally move it into boost trunk.

To get out of this impasse I don't think the solution is to start over.
Rather, it is to work together with everyone who has something to
contribute, build consensus (if required) on at least the most
fundamental points, and then get closer to a new boost submission.

(OK, I'm fully aware of the difficulties in the non-technical aspects of
this, so I think we need to carefully phrase the proposal such that it
has a chance to succeed even if at the end it will still be a proposal,
not an accepted new boost component.)

In other words, I expect the project to start with the existing code (
https://svn.boost.org/svn/boost/sandbox/numpy/, I think that is, yes ?)
and improve that in various ways.

Do you not thing this is a sensible approach ?

Thanks,
     Stefan
