From guido at digicool.com Fri Apr 27 19:26:18 2001 From: guido at digicool.com (Guido van Rossum) Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2001 12:26:18 -0500 Subject: [C++-SIG] Shutting down the SIG Message-ID: <200104271726.MAA21491@cj20424-a.reston1.va.home.com> The yearly review of the C++ SIG's activities is long overdue (the expiration date was June last year). Looking through the archive, I find that the C++ SIG has been mostly a misguided forum for random C++-related Python questions. The real work seems on C++ bindings for Python to be going on elsewhere. This SIG hasn't done anything towards its goal or charter. So let's admit that this SIG serves no longer a purpose, and shut it down. Python SIGs are supposed to have a clear goal and charter. --Guido van Rossum (home page: http://www.python.org/~guido/) From barry at scottb.demon.co.uk Sat Apr 28 15:07:19 2001 From: barry at scottb.demon.co.uk (Barry Scott) Date: Sat, 28 Apr 2001 14:07:19 +0100 Subject: [C++-SIG] Shutting down the SIG In-Reply-To: <200104271726.MAA21491@cj20424-a.reston1.va.home.com> Message-ID: <001101c0cfe4$281f7fe0$060210ac@private> Agreed close this one down. I will keep the source code for Python C++ on SourceForge working. David Abrahams is actively working on the boost interfaces for Python discussed on the boost list. I had to make some changes to get it (CXX Extensions v5.0b) to work with Python v2.0. Should I send them to you?
