It had a lot more when it was called RuPy, but every year the amount of Python in its program decreased (that's probably one of the reason why they change name). Now it's just yet another multilanguage conference. I totally agree with Carl. I much more prefer pycon.org to be a list of Python conferences and not yet another Lanyrd, but worse. I think we should stick to Python only events, otherwise the page wouldn't be as useful anymore. We do add some multi-lingual conference with more than just a few Python talks to the events calendars. Considering that the last time we changed hosting for PyCon PL website was in 2010, I don't see a big problem on my side of having you in the loop once per 6 years to change the DNS server settings. If it's a problem for you, then maybe you could think about passing your function to someone else - we have fantastic Python community worldwide and I'm sure we would easily find people who would happily take all those duties from your shoulders (you seem to have a lot of them in PSF). That way more people would get engaged in helping PSF, so win&win for everyone. Anyway do I correctly assume that the pl.pycon.org alias will be changed? You seem to be misunderstanding: by having more control of the mapping on your side, you can better plan the switch-over, define the exact time, run tests, etc. Anyway, I was just trying to help. I don't have such a big requirements regarding better control over the switching process yet. Conference website is not a mission critical piece at the current moment (half a year before the event), so I can accept some potential failures and temporary lack of availability - that's fine. You know Poles are spontaneous and masters of improvisation - not everything must be perfectly planned and prepared in order to work good enough. > > Anyway, I was just trying to help.
