** WIRE MONKEY MACHINES:

Saliq Savage of Wire Monkey Dance will present live video machines that examine the interface of web technology and our every day lives. As practically everyone uses a handy of one sort or another to gather information and communicate, the interface with the machine becomes ever more important. Wire Monkey Machines are different in that they require the audience/participant to move beyond the brain/finger-tap for control and turn inward to the body to access movement for control of the interface and their expression. This is an opportunity to experiment with some machines that will be part of an exhibit at A.P.E. Window in April 2011.

Saliq Savage co-directs Wire Monkey Dance company. He is a Certified Practitioner and Teacher of Body-Mind Centering® and Teaches Contact Improvisation. He maintains a private body-work practice working developmentally with Infants, children and adults.
