Hi y'all in our contact community! We're excited to have discovered this=20
egroup link and to invite you to come dance and create with us here at=20
Earthdance.=20
Earthdance began in the late '80's when a group of dancers and artists=20
decided to live, work and dance together in the country and built community=20
on 175 acres of glorious Berkshire hills. There are now 6-8 of us living,=20
working and dancing here. We are now blessed with two huge studios, a fully=
=20
renovated farmhouse, a wood stove sauna, and we welcome improvisational=20
dancers from all over the world year-round.
Following are some quickie announcements:
--If you'd like to be on our mailing list, please send back your name,=20
address, phone and email. =20
--Free improvisation scores every Monday night!
Monday, November 6, 7:30-9:30 p.m. we will recommence our FREE weekly=20
improvisational sessions. Facilitators include David Hurwith, Lani Nahela,=20
Shakti Sadeh, Stephen Yoshen, Andy Gaines, and others. Structures will be=20
drawn from Contact Improvisation, Authentic Movement, Action Theater, Moving=
=20

--Workshop: Continued Explorations of Contact Improv with Shakti Smith
December 1-3, begins Friday at 8 p.m.
Come enjoy two full days of contact improvisation. Our intention will be to=
=20
deepen your connection with the form. To find greater ease in being upside=20
down, joy in disorientation, and confidence in the act of flying. All the=20
while embracing the fullness and lusciousness of pauses, and stillness. Thi=
s=20
is an open level class for those with at least a minimum (i.e. weekend=20
workshop, or 6-8 week series) of contact experience. $225 (all inclusive)
--New Visions for New Year's JAM!, 2000-2001
Friday, 12/28 through Tuesday, 1/2/01
Eric Huther had a vision: enlist a few vibrant, energetic, movement-focused=20
people living and working in New York or Boston to facilitate the forthcomin=
g=20
jams. In this way we could more actively enrich the dance in the studios,=20
reach out to improvisers in the cities, and give ourselves a break! $250=20
(all inclusive)
Scott Waldron (NYC) and Shakti Smith (Boston) have joyfully welcomed our=20
enthusiastic invitation to them, and will facilitate the New Year's Jam. =20
They will bring an emphasis on fostering communication so that everyone's=20
voice is honored as the jam unfolds. They wish to share their experience of=
=20
how an expanding awareness of our interconnectedness in the dance not only=20
creates more safety, but also enhances the dynamic range of our creative=20
expression.
--Performance: "The Life of Dead Animals" by Rosaeja Barslund
Sunday, November 26, 6:30 p.m. preceeding the Sunday Night JAM!
Danish choroegrapher Rosaeja Barslund has been living and dancing at=20
Earthdance this Fall as part of her EDDC (Netherlands) studies. She has bee=
n=20

creatures in the human body. Performers include Earthdance volunteers Bonni=
e=20
Greenwood, Justine Chambers, Megan, and local residents Gopi Krishna and Ita=
=20
Peach.
--Volunteer Residencies
Our new volunteer program provides the opportunity to dance and play as a=20
member of Earthdance's residential support staff. This is an incredibly=20
rewarding opportunity to experience how the Earthdance community integrates=20
fun and play within a work environment.
Volunteers assist half time in areas such as kitchen, housekeeping, clerical=
=20
support and grounds maintenance. We currently require special assistance=20
with administrative and carpentry tasks. The length of the commitment is=20
negotiable.
In return, volunteers receive:=20
=C2=B7 room and board
=C2=B7 discounts on Earthdance jams and workshops
=C2=B7 unlimited use of the dance barn, sauna, and hot tub
=C2=B7 the opportunity to live, work, play and create with hundreds of diver=
se=20
