All this techie talk has got me slightly confused!  What does it mean to
get "pinged off" a list?   :-)

Yes, I'm interested in the numerical and scientific applications of Python
(i.e. numpy, scipy, matplotlib, sympy, et al ) and would like to learn
more.... within my time constraints!  Thanks Brian.
