The place I was consulting at a year ago had an Intel based AS400
running an emulator for a PowerPC based AS400 running a mainframe
emulator (3830?) that was running a System 370 emulator. This last
was running their core accounting system that was written in BAL (370
Assembler) in the 70s. And I was told it ran faster today than it did
on any of the previous machines.

So which is it Jon, are you trying to maintain something like that or
are you doing a demo for the Computer Museum?
