Hi guys. Hope you all are doing well!

I needed someone's opinion on the following: I am thinking of getting an
AMD CPU and running ubuntu on it, for a desktop I am thinking of building.
I read online that ubuntu is optimised for intel CPUs, and many people have
reported issues running the AMD cpu + ubuntu configuration. Does anyone
have experience with this? If yes, what are your thoughts?

In my previous company for almost 7 years we used AMD + debian for desktop
from 2007 to 2014
We don't find any issues specifically with desktop.

We have a lot of Linux distros available, Ubuntu package manager is derived
from debian.
Search for which distro suits AMD otherwise.

Always make sure the home and root partitions separate when you install.
This will help you in OS crash scenarios to save your work.

My suggestion +1 for AMD for Desktop.

you can run ubuntu in AMD cpu but that cpu room must have Air conditioner.
In the summer, when running ubnutu in AMD cpu it will
automatically shut down due to over heating.

AMD does just fine on Ubuntu (and for that matter, all Debian based distros). I?ve run ubuntu on AMD cpus from the Athlon days. 

Air conditioning the room is not the solution, and definitely not a necessity for running one or two machines. There are ways to keep the computer cool regardless of operating room temps (within reason). Just make sure you have proper cooling (CPU Fans / an AIO if need be). 

Use pcpartpicker.com or something similar to make sure you choose compatible parts.

POSIX is a standard used by the Operating System.
OS like GNU/Linux, BSD uses POSIX.

ILUGC has a virtual GNU/Linux terminal to run shell commands for this
training.
So you just need to join the IRC session to practice.

(Flask, Flask-socketio, gevents). You can take a look at the source

I want to give a talk on title "Machine Learning using Scikit-Learn Python
library".
In this talk, i am going to give examples and demo,  how to use  Python
machine learning library Scikit-learn for classification & analysis. If u
want to practice handson, install the python libraries such as matplotlib,
numpy, scipy and scikit-learn.
At the end of the talk, participants can learn how to use machine learning
built-in libraries available in Scikit-learn for practical applications.

The talk duration is 20 mins.

We will use JITSI for screen sharing, you can take a session in that.
Any way we will have a test run for all the speakers alone before the
meetup.
Will send you a note a few days before the meetup.

Due to Covid 19 pandemic the meetup format was converted into online format from April 2020 and the 4th edition of the online event was conducted on 25.07.2020 at 3.00 PM.

The first talk ?Starting Django Project The Right Way? was given by Mr.Arvind Nedumaran an active Django Developer having 10 years of experience in the field. He introduced Django and gave a detailed account of how to set up a Django environment. He covered Directory structure,? Settings configuration, Requirements, Environment var and user model. He also explained the Cookiecutter - A command-line utility that creates projects from cookiecutters (project templates), e.g. creating a Python package project from a Python package project template. The second talk ?Machine Learning using Scikit-Learn? was given by Dr.R.Senthilkumar an Assistant Professor from IRTT, Erode who has an 10 years of experience in the machine learning field. He introduced machine learning ,? classification methods and KNN methods to extract information from the data. He took examples of cauvery water pollution and processed images obtained from the river basin. He used Python to solve the problem and visualize the output. He used anaconda package and spyder IDE to demonstrate the problem. The Session ends with Q & A.?

The third talk ? Introduction to Kivy ? was given by Dr.M.Muralidharan, Head , CS, Nehru Memorial College who has an 33 years of experience in the teaching field. He introduced the Kivy - an application framework for developing graphics user interface apps. He gave the salient features of kivy an extension of python and elaborated the installation procedures. He further explained the architecture of kivy and finally ended the session with demo programs. The Session ends with Q & A.?

The speaker answered in affirmative that kivy can be installed in the 32 bit operating system and if the user wants to work independent of the platform he can set the virtualenv.

In the lightning talk session Mr.Rengaraj gave an idea about participating in ?Pycon 2020? an online event disseminating the knowledge about python and necessary techniques.He also encouraged the members to submit the proposals for the talk session and workshop session.?


Mr.Vijaykumar wrapped the session with summation of meetup and thanked the members. The meeting ended at 5.30 pm
