Hi Everyone,

PyCon India is mostly likely to be held in Chennai this year! Please 
join the PyCon India mailing list at 
https://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/inpycon if you would like to 
help with organizing the event.

As a first step, we are evaluating various venues for this purpose. The 
venue should meet the following criteria:

  * 3 Halls, in close proximity, for three parallel tracks
      - One 1000+ seater
      - One 500+ seater
      - One 200+ seater
  * One more hall for open spaces
  * Dining space that can accommodate 1000+ people, in close proximity
    to the venue
  * Space for registration desk and sponsor stalls

If you are aware of venues, that meet this criteria, please help us with 
the following details:

  * No. of halls and seating capacity
  * Proximity of the halls
  * Cost of the venue, for the above mentioned requirement
  * Location of the venue
  * Availability in the month of October, or last week of September
  * Other benefits if any, like complimentary rooms for speakers, in 
case of hotels

If you are proceeding to collect details for a particular venue, please 
indicate that on the inpycon mailing list first (to avoid duplication of 
effort). You can provide the details, later on, once you get a quote. 
Suggestions with the details needs to be provided by this weekend, 
before we can take a final call on the venue.

Talk Proposal: Stains in Screen Printing

The standard approach to string formatting and printing has evolved over 
the years. We will see what were the pitfalls, what we learned from 
them, and how things came to be the way they are today. The focus will 
be on the `print` statement / function and the `%` operator.

As you might be aware, PyCon India 2019 is happening in Chennai, this 
year. As part of the promotion effort, we are forming a workgroup to 
promote PyCon India 2019 in local usergroups, meetup groups, companies, 
colleges and institutions across India. The workgroup will consist of 
region-wise owners who will promote PyCon India 2019 in a particular 
geographical region or community. This will involve sending notification 
and announcements to local mailing lists, making announcements during 
meetups, putting up posters on notice boards, etc.
