I would prefer that we move the meeting up to the 24th since we only get 
12 meetings a year.? That's also what we do when holidays interfere with 
our monthly meetings.? If Brian cannot do his second presentation then, 
I am willing to fill in with a presentation about Sphinx, a 
sophisticated documentation tool written in Python.

I just let Shelby know that I have a prior commitment for the 24th, but
based on this thread, I am assuming the meeting will be moved to the 24th,
and I will reschedule my talk for a later date.

I wanted to offer some history around the problematic "Last Monday of the
Month" for COhPy. The meeting was not originally on Mondays, but when our
host at the time started scheduling regular events of their own in "our"
day/time slot, it turned out Mondays were the most open days to move to.
The last Monday did not conflict with some other meetups already happening
on other Mondays. So we went with that.

Of course that meant we had to have May's a week early. And we skipped
Nov/Dec (because of the holidays) and just had a social event early in
December. And when July's fell the day after PyOhio, we'd just have a
combined COhPy/PyOhio sprint/social at the (now gone) Grandview Winking
Lizard.

Last Monday a problematic day, and there's nothing sacred about it. Maybe
it's time to change it in 2023?

The October meeting has been cancelled as it overlaps with Halloween and a lot of parents understandably don?t want to miss that.

We will do the holiday party style meeting December 12 instead of the November and December as to not overlap more holidays.

We can do either a potluck or catering - let me know. If we decide to do catering I will collect donations for it.

Hello all,

After some re-evaluation of my priorities, I have decided I have not doing leading or planning for the monthly meeting anymore. I have a lot going on in my life, not least of which a job search in this rough economy as I am running out of savings. I don't have the bandwidth to run a group with a bunch of old leaders that will passively-aggressively try to make sure I keep old habits of the group "because its what we've always done" but won't actually help much with the planning and arrangements. Whatever happens with the monthly group happens. 

The dojo is unaffected, as it basically runs itself.

Suggestion for December Meeting. Beer Barrel Pizza and Grill across from Eastland shopping center. Chain out of northern Ohio, has plenty of parking, and seems roomy enough. Food and beer are good too imo.
