We will have two speakers: *Paul Leopardi* with I will be talking on how to combine the use of MPI4Py with SciPy sparse linear algebra, including how to lay out MPI groups and communicators, and how to use Gatherv effectively. and *Kirill Kouzoubov* with Take advantage of modern parallel hardware with Open Computing Language (OpenCL) framework. In this talk I'll give a brief overview of OpenCL parallel computation model, and how it can be used from within python, leveraging excellent PyOpenCL library, to accelerate numeric heavy computations. *Notice: *At our last meeting an end of year social was suggested. I think this is an excellent idea. Because some people are away at the end of the year, how about we replace our final meet up with drinks/nibbles somewhere near the university? We can organize more at the next meeting, but let me know if you have any suggestions/objections! Hope to see you all there, Padarn -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
