From padarn at gmail.com Sun Aug 4 08:40:22 2013 From: padarn at gmail.com (Padarn Wilson) Date: Sun, 4 Aug 2013 16:40:22 +1000 Subject: [Canberra-PUG] Next meeting, slides and google+ Message-ID: Hi all, a few things today: 1) The next meeting will be on the 5th of September, same time and place as the meeting last week. I think the new location worked better, especially once we managed to get security to keep the door unlocked for us. Is anyone interested in speaking, or has a topic they'd like to hear about? 2) Nariman Habil who talked last week on GIS in Python has kindly provided a link to the slides of his talk for those interested: http://goo.gl/DzZIqj 3) I'd like to point out the G+ community of python users in Canberra that Gavin Jackson has been keeping up to date: https://plus.google.com/communities/103339628935802168974 . Gavin has agreed to keep this current with upcoming meeting etc, and he also posts some interesting python related content there. And if time permits - *Hugh Fisher* will talk about and compare some of the options for doing interactive 3D graphics in Python. I don't want to rush Hugh, so if we don't have enough time to do justice to his talk we'll hold it until the following meeting. I think it would also be good to have a chat about other possibilities people might be interested in for the PUG - maybe group projects/social gatherings? Location and time details will be the same as for the last meeting (with a different date obviously). I will outline them again in a reminder closer to the time.
