I'm not sure it would bring something, as ctime is an all-in-one.

As file(s) being modified during a backup are really a very few (very
often files from /var/log, sometimes Firefox xxxxxx.sqlite in my own
case), the thing that could be interesting would be to memorize them in
an array and once the backup of other files is complete, retry to backup
them (may be more than once, let's say 3 times with a random delay
before retry, just in case).
