OK, than you likely have discovered a bug in sshfs (where it does not 
fully emulate a normal fs's behaviour).

I meant directly after you encountered the input/output error.

But as sshfs is a FUSE (userspace) filesystem, I guess you won't find 
anything in the kernel logs.
