You can't backup concurrently into the same repo, borg uses file locks
to prevent that.

From my understanding this is as expected for intermediate
checkpoints, you are only guaranteed to see all files after a
successful archive has been created at some point.

OTOH, your concurrent process might simply be wrong and not behave as
you expect. Possibly not backing up some parts of the directory tree
when you expect it at all, e.g. because the target repo is locker or
stuff.
