I will be sending another email this weekend about upcoming BayPIGgies events and planning for our fall conference PyBay but I wanted to get this email in your hands in case you are in the area and can join tonight! ?LIGHTNING TALKS at Hacker Dojo? _____PYTHON OPEN MIC NIGHT____ https://www.meetup.com/hackerdojo/events/294593049/ *Lightning Talks at Hacker Dojo tonight -- tonight is Python night!* Hacker Dojo is looking for people to give a five minute talk at their Lightning Talk events. The Lightning Talks happens every Friday at the Hacker Dojo. *The event starts at 6pm but the actual presentations don?t start until 7pm. *People can sign up to be one of the speakers when they arrive at the event. The talk should be educational or at least interesting for people working in tech. It?s called Lightning Talks because each talk only lasts five minutes. Tonight is the first night that we are experimenting with having a theme for the night instead of no theme. Tonight?s theme is Python. In future weeks there may be other tech themes. But if you want to give a talk that doesn?t match the night?s theme that is totally fine too! The Hacker Dojo is located at 855 Maude Ave in Mountain View and has a parking lot. The Hacker Dojo is a nonprofit whose mission is to help teach people about tech and entrepreneurship. Their website is hackerdojo.org . You can find a list of all of their events on their meetup page: meetup.com/hackerdojo -Karen -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Hacker Dojo does have Lightning talks every Friday night though?. so even if it isn?t a Python-themed night come join sometime and give a talk (details below)! Check their meetup group for more information. They have been a welcoming host of several BayPiggies meetups since we restarted in-person events. -Karen > On Jul 14, 2023, at 9:56 PM, Karen Dalton wrote: > > ? > Hello BayPIGgies! > > I will be sending another email this weekend about upcoming BayPIGgies events and planning for our fall conference PyBay but I wanted to get this email in your hands in case you are in the area and can join tonight! > > > > ?LIGHTNING TALKS at Hacker Dojo? > _____PYTHON OPEN MIC NIGHT____ > https://www.meetup.com/hackerdojo/events/294593049/ > > > > Lightning Talks at Hacker Dojo tonight -- tonight is Python night! > > Hacker Dojo is looking for people to give a five minute talk at their Lightning Talk events. Message-ID: Hello! North Bay Python is coming up *next weekend* on July 29th and 30th here in beautiful Petaluma, just an hour north of San Francisco! We're excited to be back for year 4 with another destination conference and a program that reinforces fundamentals, demonstrates interesting use cases, and pushes us to be better people. Check out the program and maybe buy a ticket: http://2023.northbaypython.org/ -- importantly, if you have any dietary restrictions, you'll need to get your ticket in by close of business on Friday July 21st.
